Why a roster, not an open edition

An open edition mints until someone stops it. A roster is a fixed board: fifty slots, each with its own character, and a vacant id gets crossed off when someone takes it. The contract holds MAX_SUPPLY at 50 and mints nothing past it, so the board you see is the whole board you will ever see.

The price is flat and exact: 0.01 BOT per id, no fee above it and no tiering. Each id draws from a fixed trait table, so the same number always renders the same animated unit; the art is not an image stored on-chain, but the mapping from id to character never changes.

The money is held by the contract, not by a wallet. Mint proceeds sit in the contract, and the lead can collect only the balance above the sum reserved for units still inside their 24-hour window. That reserve is what makes a stand-down a full refund rather than a promise.

01 You mint a specific vacant id; the contract does not pick one for you.
02 No fee above 0.01 BOT.
03 Stand down is a full refund of the mint price, not a partial.
04 Lead cannot stand down someone else's unit.
05 After 24 hours the unit cannot be refunded through the contract.
06 Stand-down requires the original minter, the same holder, and fewer than 24 hours since enlist.
PROTOCOL

How a unit is enlisted

  1. Read the board Open the roster and look at ids 1 through 50; vacant slots are open, taken slots show their current holder.
  2. Pick a vacant id You choose the number yourself. The contract does not assign one, and it rejects any id that is already taken or outside 1–50.
  3. Mint for 0.01 BOT Send exactly 0.01 native BOT to mint(id). The unit is transferred to your address in the same transaction.
  4. Keep it or stand down Hold the unit, transfer it later, or call standDown(id) inside 24 hours to burn it and get the 0.01 BOT back.
SIGNAL

Who enlists

Collectors who want a numbered character rather than a random draw: the id is the identity, and the roster caps at fifty. Someone who wants unit 7 gets unit 7 or nothing.

People who want a short, honest trial: mint, look at the unit on the board for a day, and reverse it for the full 0.01 BOT if it is not the one. After the window closes, the unit is simply yours to keep or transfer.

Traders who prefer a small, countable board over an open mint, and squads filling neighbouring ids so the roster reads as one set rather than scattered numbers.

FAQ

What does a unit cost?

Exactly 0.01 native BOT. There is no fee above the mint price, and the contract rejects any other amount for mint(id).

How does the 24-hour stand-down work?

If you are the original minter, still hold the unit, and fewer than 24 hours have passed since enlist, standDown(id) burns it and returns 0.01 BOT to you. It is a full refund of the mint price, not a partial. Once the window passes, the contract will not refund that unit.

Can someone else stand down my unit?

No. Stand-down is minter-only and requires that you still hold the unit. The lead has no path to stand down another holder's unit.

Where does the BOT go?

Mint payments are held by the BotSquad contract. The lead can collect only the balance above the sum reserved for units still inside their 24-hour refund window.

Which chain is this on?

BOT Chain mainnet, chain id 677, with native BOT as the payment token. The contract address is published once the deploy lands.

Is the art stored on-chain?

No image is stored on-chain. Each id from 1 to 50 draws from a fixed trait table, so the same id always renders the same animated character.

Roadmap

NOW

Deploy BotSquad on BOT Chain mainnet and open all fifty ids for minting at 0.01 BOT with the 24-hour stand-down live from the first enlist.

NEXT

Publish the roster view so anyone can read which ids are vacant, who holds each unit, and which units are still inside their refund window.

LATER

Surface the full trait table per id on the site so the character behind each number is readable before anyone mints.

BEYOND

Keep the board at fifty and the price at 0.01 BOT; any further work stays inside those two limits rather than adding supply or tiers.

Call a vacant unit

Scan the board, pick the number you want, and mint it for 0.01 BOT. If it is not the unit for you, stand down inside 24 hours and the contract returns the full price.
